What retrograde actually is
Seen from a moving earth, a planet sometimes appears to back up against the stars. It is pure perspective, and astrology reads the perspective honestly: for a few weeks the planet's subject matter runs in review mode rather than launch mode.
What to expect from Mercury
Mercury governs communication, contracts, travel plans, and technology. Expect exactly those areas to ask for a second pass - and expect the second pass, done patiently, to leave things sturdier than they were before the station.
A word against the panic
Retrogrades are survivable by design - Mercury does this three or four times every single year, and the world keeps turning. Use the window for the re- words: review, revise, reconnect, rest.
