Why is he not texting back?

A reader cannot see his phone, but a reading can sort the likely causes of a silence (busy, cooling off, a bruised ego, a pattern you have seen before) from the stories a worried mind writes.

Silence has a dozen causes, and a reading helps you work out which one you are looking at before you send the next message.

What a reader can tell you

When someone stops answering, the mind fills the gap with the worst version. A reader does something simpler: they ask what happened just before the silence, how he usually texts, and whether this is new or part of a pattern. The answer is often less dramatic than the story you have been telling yourself, and sometimes it is exactly what you feared, said out loud at last.

Hot and cold behaviour, a viewed story with no reply, a long gap after a good date: each has its own usual explanations, and the articles below go through them. A live chat lets you give the details that matter, which an article cannot ask for.

What a reader will not do is tell you he is secretly longing for you. What they can do is help you decide whether to send one more message, wait, or stop waiting, and to be at peace with whichever you choose.

Ask it in your own words

Not sure how to put it into words? The What Is He Thinking quiz takes about 3 minutes, and your result opens a reader's chat with it typed in.
