Does my ex regret leaving me?
Nobody can see regret from the outside, and a reader who says they can see his is guessing. A reading weighs what he has done since he left, separates regret from loneliness or guilt, and asks what his regret would change for you. That last question is often the one that settles something.
Regret happens inside someone else, out of any reader's sight. What you can look at together is his behaviour since he left, and why his being sorry matters so much to you.
What a reader can tell you
Regret, an apology and wanting you back are three different things, and people often treat them as one. He can regret how he left without wanting to return, and he can message you on your birthday out of habit or guilt without regretting anything at all. A reader will take the things he has done (the late night text, the message passed on by a friend, the apology that came months after) and look at each piece for what it shows, without stretching it into a promise.
Tarot has its own words for this. The Five of Cups is the traditional card of regret, a figure mourning three spilled cups with two still standing behind him; the Eight of Cups is the one who walks away; the Six of Cups is nostalgia, which is not the same as regret. A reader will say what they see in a spread and what they do not, and a spread gives you something to talk through; it is not proof of what is in his heart. Bring how he left and what he said on the way out; those two details usually say more than any card.
Underneath this question there is often another one. Did I matter? Did he make a mistake? People want an ex's regret as proof that the relationship was real, or as the apology they never got. A reading can help you have that without waiting on him: to say what the relationship was worth on your own terms, and to stop measuring your healing by whether he is sorry yet.
