Is my loved one at peace?
No reader can confirm how someone is after death, and an honest one will say so first. What a live reading can do is make room for what usually sits behind the question: a hard death, a quarrel never mended, guilt about the last weeks, even though the question itself stays open.
Often the first question after a death, and one of the hardest to carry. No one can see across that line for you, but a reading can make room for the what ifs that come with it.
What a reader can tell you
The question tends to press hardest after a long illness that hurt to watch, a sudden accident, a suicide, or an ending where you were not in the room. Many faiths, and many mediums too, describe those who have died as free of the pain they had at the end, and a reader can tell you what their own tradition holds. None of it is something a reader can check, and you deserve to hear that plainly.
A reading is also a place to say the rest of it. The argument the week before, the call you did not return, the decision you made with the doctors and still turn over at night. Saying it to someone who will not flinch is often what loosens the grip. If a reader shares an impression of your loved one, treat it as something you can keep or set down, not as a ruling on how they are or how they saw you.
Some answers come from people rather than readings. If the last hours are what you keep going back to, the nurses, doctors, paramedics or hospice staff who were with them can often tell you whether they seemed comfortable, and it is fine to ask. A faith leader can speak to what your tradition says about peace after death. Many hospices offer bereavement support to families, and after a suicide, groups for people bereaved that way understand questions others cannot. If you are not sleeping or eating, tell your doctor, and if you ever feel you would rather not be here yourself, contact a crisis line or emergency services that day.
